行動経済学で有名なダン・アリエリーのモチベーションに関する動画です。

３つの状況下で、ランダムな文字が並んだ紙を１枚渡し、同じ文字が並んでいるものを探すという仕事をしてもらい報酬を渡します。

１つめは自分の名前を紙に書いて貰い、同じ文字が並んだペアを全て見つけたら実験者に紙を提出してもらいます。実験者はそれを上から下まで、さっと確認し「はいどうも」と言って、彼らの横にある紙束の上に載せる。

２つめは名前を紙に書いて貰わずに、実験者はそれを見て紙を受け取って見もせず確認もせず、ただ紙束の上に載せる。

３つめは実験者は紙を受け取り、すぐさまシュレッダーにかける。

この３つでよりモチベーションをキープできたのはどれでしょうか？

ただ報酬のためなら、３の状況は適当に書いてもバレません。
数を多くこなして報酬をたくさんもらうことができそうです。
２の状況は１に近いのでしょうか？

次の話はケーキミックスの話です。

１９４０年代、ある会社が水を混ぜてオーブンに入れるだけでできるケーキミックスを発売しました。
味は悪くないのに全く売れません。

そこで、ミルクと卵の成分を抜き、作るときには牛乳と卵を入れて作るものを発売しました。
味は同じです。
そうすると、そのケーキミックスは売れたそうです。

そこにはどういう心理が働いているのでしょうか？

仕事をしてたくさんのお金が稼げればモチベーションは上がります。
「もっと稼いでやろう」と思うでしょう。

でも、それはお金があれば何でも買えるからでしょうか？
大きい家に住めるからでしょうか？
高級車に乗れるからでしょうか？
女性にモテるから？

そういう側面もあるでしょう。
特に最初、儲かり始めた頃は。

新しいビジネスをして、どんどん儲けが増えていけば、その気持ちをずっと持ち続けることができるかもしれません。

ビジネスを始めて、ある程度の収入が入ってくるようになり、その後、それをどんどん大きくしていける人は、それほど多くありません。

ある程度の収入を確保して、毎日少しでも多くしたい、でもそれほど急激な伸びはない。

お金のために仕事をする。
当然と言えば当然の話です。

でも、それだけでモチベーションを維持し高めていくことはできるのでしょうか？

サラリーマンならどうでしょうか？
給料のいい仕事がしたい、給料の高い会社に勤めたい、多くの人がそう思うでしょう。
給料が高い会社に勤めている人は、それだけでモチベーションがキープできるのでしょうか？

仕事をする上で、あまりモチベーションにこだわるのも良くないとは思います。
そんな事は気にせずに、淡々とやるべき仕事をする。
そう割り切った方が、気持ちに左右されずに仕事ができるとも思います。

でも、気持ちよく、前向きに仕事に取り組めるなら、その方がいい。
